One of the most accessible beaches in the area, Trinidad State Beach can be approached almost any way you like. Drive through town until Trinity Street dead ends at the Memorial Lighthouse and then turn right on Edwards, following it down until you can't go any farther. The state beach parking is on your right as you come down the hill; the pier, Launcher Beach, restrooms and charter boat operations are all to your left. All are easy to reach with limited walking. Or if you'd like a bit of trail with your beach experience, park at the State Beach parking area off Stagecoach Drive and head down a short trail to the northern edge of the beach. The two areas connect easily at lower tides. Finally, if you're staying in town, you'll begin to notice small wooden trail signs on Underwood and Van Wycke. They offer more pathways to this beach at the heart of Trinidad.
